Pima Community College is the eighth-largest community college in the country with an annual enrollment of 75,408 (61,769 credit and 13,639 noncredit). Since FY 1999-2000, PCC has served 295,728 students, a number equivalent to about one-third of current Pima County Residents. In May 2006, PCC awarded almost 5,000 degrees and certificates.

PCC has more than 160 programs, including Transfer, Business, Health-Related, Social Service, Applied Arts Technologies, Engineering & Science Technologies, Transportation Services, Information Technology, Legal and Protective Services, and Education. Some of the more unique and advanced programs are the Center for Archeological Field Training, Biotechnology, and Aviation Technology.

The college plays a significant role in local economic development, contracting to provide customized on-site training for firms and offering various programs in support of businesses. PCC's Center for Business Solutions specializes in providing rapid response, flexible delivery, and quality training solutions; the Arizona State Environmental Technology Training Center provides environmental, health safety, and OSHA-mandated training; the Center for Training and Development offers intensive short-term workforce certification programs; the Information Technology Institute provides training in current programming, computer, and office applications; the Public Safety and Emergency Services Institute provides emergency response training; and the Small Business Development Center offers business strategy training and workshops.
