Institutions for Continuing Education and Training

 

The University of Phoenix is designed and dedicated to meeting the educational needs of working adults, and offers over 30 degree programs. A wide variety of training courses are also available and can be customized based on the specific employer's needs and delivered at the company's site. There are almost 4,000 enrolled students in Southern Arizona.

Prescott College is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and offers degrees in a variety of liberal arts fields, including state-approved teacher certification programs.

Other colleges and universities have a presence in Tucson. Colleges such as
Northern Arizona University, Chapman University, Chaparral College, Troy University, and Apollo College offer a variety of programs to meet the diverse needs of residents. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base enrolls over 2,100 students.

Resources for customized training are also available throughout the region. The
Southern Arizona Institute for Advanced Technology (SAIAT) plays a vital role in workforce development. SAIAT's mission is to meet specialized, fast-response training needs for existing and incoming employers and workers in Southern Arizona.

There are over 25 trade and vocational schools in the Tucson region. These schools cover various subjects such as computer training, secretarial training, real estate, truck driving, interior design, cosmetology, environmental training, aviation training, medical, electronics engineering, and computer-aided drafting. These institutions provide continuing education opportunities for students and professionals of all levels and backgrounds and customized programs for any industry.
