What is “Shovel Ready” and what are the benefits?
Developed in response to the demand for accelerated timelines for both relocation and expansion construction needs, TREO created the “Shovel Ready” program in conjunction with local developers and government entities. If a property is certified under this program’s criteria, it is ready to advance immediately to the building permit phase and ready for plans to be approved within 90 days. We know this fast track approach will appeal to both site selectors and business owners.
For a property to be certified, an application has to be submitted to TREO and TREO will coordinate and obtain the agreements from appropriate government entities and utilities to assure the property is eligible to be listed as “Shovel Ready.” What are shovel ready sites?
Certified Shovel Ready sites are parcels that are on the market for sale or lease, appropriately zoned, pre-qualified to meet local planning requirements, served by utilities, and with identified access to transportation linkages. This program does NOT apply to retail projects.
