Joe Snell Named Co-Chair of the Economic Development Committee of the Arizona-Mexico Commission

Tucson, AZ (February 1, 2011) – Joe Snell, President & CEO of Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, Inc. (TREO) has been named Co-Chair of the Economic Development Committee of the Arizona-Mexico Commission.

In his new role, Snell will define an aggressive, feasible, action-oriented economic development agenda for the Arizona-Mexico Commission that will complement the state’s economic development strategy. The committee’s work advances the region’s competitiveness through the creation of high-quality jobs, stable growth and sustainable economic development through trade corridor development, technological development and innovation in the region, with an emphasis on making communities on both sides of the border more secure and prosperous. Snell will co-chair the committee with Don Cardon, President & CEO of the newly-established Arizona Commerce Authority.

Economic opportunities and job creation in the region are priorities that both Governor Brewer and Governor Padres have in common, and which will be on the forefront of the vision for the two states’ agenda going forward. The Commission’s mission is to improve the quality of life for the residents of Arizona by promoting a strong cooperative relationship with Mexico and Latin America through advocacy, trade, networking and information.
